Formby FC results 1968/9

This is an incomplete list, we’re missing the score of 7 league games: Lancaster City (4 April), St Helens Town home (6 April), Lancaster City (7 April), Kirkby Town home (29 April), St Helens Town away (6 May), Barrow Reserves away (unknown date 1969), and Nelson away (unknown date 1969). 

Of these 7, we lost 6 and won 1, scoring 5 goals and conceding 19.

Both Lytham St Annes games are recorded as being away – one must actually be home.

Prestwich Heys home (25 September) was abandoned after 82 minutes due to poor light (Heys had arrived late and we had no floodlights). We can find no record of the fixture being replayed so it appears the result was left to stand. Given that we were 3-0 down, and that they tanked us 7-0 at their place two months later, perhaps it was as good as we’d have got anyway.
